HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELIZABETH

Today my baby turns 1!!! Oh and it's inaguration day or something. But more importantly, it's Elizabeth's birthday. As we are out of town again today, in a few days I will post a 'year in review' for all of you. Let me just say that Elizabeth has been one of the greatest blessings this family has ever received. She has made me believe that newborns can be fun, that Julia can play with someone other than me, and she has truly made us a family. I'm so grateful for her and her sweet spirit and almost always smiling face. She was quite a surprise, but I don't know what we would do without her. We love you Elizabeth. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Long time coming...

Over a month ago I mentioned that I had begun taking some pictures for a few friends and I would share them when I felt brave enough to do so. Weekend visitor...

David's brother Daniel brought his girlfriend Kelley home to meet the family this weekend. They have actually been dating for quite some time. Which makes me feel a little sorry for her. I would be way more nervous meeting the family if there was so much anticipation built up and for a whole weekend! But then, I was David's mom's visiting teacher while he was on his mission. Meeting the family happened long before he and I started dating. But I digress...Kelley was great! Not sure how she puts up with Daniel, but she was great. And, she made awesome pb bon bons for me. Who knew I was worth impressing with bon bons? After all, I'm just the in-law. Really though, they seem like a great match and we're excited to be in on the secret.

Same old new stuff

Well, tomorrow i officially start my life as a student again. It feels wierd. I haven't been in class for years. And when I was, I was usually the youngest. Now, I join the ranks of the old lady in class. That doesn't bother me, as I've never wanted to regress in age. Life is better now than it has been at any prior age...it's just wierd. I'm not sure how to adjust my schedule to conform to the hours that I used to think of as normal. I've really been spoiled the last couple of years. But, on the other hand, I'm excited as well. It's like a whole new adventure - with homework. I'm really excited about the program I'll be in and the material we'll be covering. Not that this post has said much, but here I go again...

Again...really???

Not even 10 days after finishing the last round of antibiotics, my children are sick again. AGAIN!!!! Julia has been running fevers that spike above 103 and only make it down to about 101. So far Elizabeth is just whining because Julia is but past experience (and plenty of it) has told me that when one is sick, the other is also. Most of you know my theory that antibiotics make people sicker over time. And so I am torn every time my kids run a fever. I know that the antibiotics will allow my children to be themselves again in a day or so and I can have some semblence of a normal life. But then, I really do think their immune systems are getting lazy. There seems to be getting less and less time between bouts of sickness and it seems to hit with a vengence now. Might I add, Julia never had an ear infection until she was over 18 months old. Now, she's had at least 6 that I can immediately recall in the past 10 months or so. I don't mean to whine, but...well yes...I do mean to whine. And since it's my blog, I can do that. I'm using it as therapy right now while my angel husband sits watching a cartoon for the umpteenth time with two very frustrating children so that I can have a moment alone. Maybe someday I'll outgrow the need to vent such frustrations...not today.
